Project Overview
Ferrero Australia approached us with the task of bringing their beloved hazelnut spread, Nutella, into the spotlight with a fresh new digital presence. The goal? A highly visual, brand-forward website that not only showcased Nutella’s rich history and origins but also inspired people to get creative in the kitchen with a library of delicious recipe ideas.
The new site needed to balance stunning imagery with an intuitive user experience, all while staying responsive and on brand across desktop, tablet and mobile.

The Problem
The previous website was falling short when it came to representing the fun, warmth and iconic nature of Nutella. It didn’t deliver the kind of sensory, emotional connection that you expect from such a globally recognised brand, especially in a digital age where food content is all about visual impact.
We needed to create something that felt like a celebration of Nutella, bold, inviting and dripping in chocolatey goodness.
Project Process
The new site put visual storytelling front and centre. We overloaded the experience (in a good way) with high-quality product shots, recipe imagery and lifestyle content, all while ensuring a seamless user experience across devices.
Unlike traditional websites where content hierarchy leads the structure, this was very much a brand-first build. That meant leading with the visuals and wrapping the content around them, rather than the other way around. The result? A mouth-watering digital showcase that captures the essence of Nutella at every scroll.
We made sure the experience was consistent no matter what device users were on, whether you’re browsing recipes on your phone in the kitchen or deep diving into Nutella’s history on your laptop.
Built in collaboration with Thirsty Digital and Ferrero Australia, the final product delivers on its goal: an engaging, visual-heavy brand and marketing site that celebrates Nutella’s heritage, taste and versatility.

Outcome & Learnings
This was a unique opportunity to flip the traditional design process and really lean into the visual and emotional power of a beloved brand. The end result feels like a celebration of Nutella – one that’s as rich and satisfying as the product itself. A delicious project in every sense.
